Hi guys! It was a really lucky coincidence to share the slow boat to Luang Prabang with you. We had no idea Nicole just had her big day :)
Hope your New Year's celebrations are wonderful and festive — we'll be looking out in case we bump into you again! Drop us a line if you'd like to get together in Laos: we're in LP until the 2nd or 3rd and then on to Vang Vieng (possibly via the Plain of Jars). We'll be there for 5-6 nights.

I think it may be a right of passage to travel to Bangkok hung over and hurting. When Norma and I left Krabi for Bangkok in a bus, we were hurting bad.

The night before we were drinking these fruity drinks from a cafe in Krabi and unbeknownst to us, the drinks were laced with opium. I slept through the experience (thank god), but Norma thought she was losing her mind hearing things that were not there and our other friend landed in the hosptial with an opium overdose. Once our landlord woke us up to tell us that we must hurry because the police wanted to talk to us, we grabbed our friend out of the hospital and fled to Bangkok.

Just another one of those crazy times times that only seems to happen when you are travelling. I guess that is why we love to see the world so much.
